I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member. I had messaged the general manager prior to my arrival to request an upgrade (subject to availability of course) and mentioned to them that i was travelling with my mum. I even told them about the suite they upgraded me to on a prior visit to India (pre Covid) and if they could accommodate me in a similar suite again. I got a reply back saying that they would give us the best available room during our stay. Upon check in, the person who checked us in (Subendu) said that there were no upgraded rooms available. Since it was just after midnight, I couldn’t check on the Marriott app if there were upgraded rooms available for that night. But I did show him that there was a suite available for the second night. He said to check with reception in the morning. So I had to share one king bed with my 82 year old mom in a very small room. The next morning (around 8am), I asked Subendu about moving us to a suite. He said there were no rooms available. I showed him the Marriott app that there were in fact suites available. He said that it was not showing on his system. I said okay, I can book it and you move me and update the rate etc in your system. He told me not to book it and instead to come back later after his duty manager arrived. So when I went back at 10am, the duty manager (Jude) was there but Subendu had finished his shift. After going through the whole saga again with Jude, he said there were no suites available. He even told me I should have booked the suite that was available when I had the chance and he would have updated the reservation in his system (totally opposite of what Subendu had told me). Ofcourse by then, the suite was not available (probably because they had removed it from inventory) so I was stuck. Jude was able to find us a slightly bigger room with two twin beds, but it wasn’t a suite. I will not stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Mumbai. I prefer to stay at the JW Marriott near the airport. Atleast there they know my preferences, recognize my elite status, and upgrade me to a suite. They even go to the extent of blocking it in the system prior to my arrival (which is what I was hoping the JW in Juhu would have done…that was the whole point of reaching out to them prior to my arrival).

I like this hotel better than St. Regis. Location is better and rooms are nicer. Access to the beach is welcome, although beach itself is full of beggers and not very nice. Wonderful breakfast. Executive lounge has good dinner food, but alcohol selection is awful. No Kingfisher and red french wine absolutely horrible.

Service was excellent. Our need were taken care of from check in to check to the highest grade. Had a wonderful stay will surely visit back next time in India. It got more special as Twinkle one of the employee there made a little home coming feel to my son visiting India the first time really touched our hearts. Usually i always stayed with taj this time I chose this as my son wanted to see juhu beach but now i guess every time i visit back have found a new home called j w juhu. I often visit India as my parents live there and now my resting place shall be j w juhu. Hope to meet the wonderful staff again and be treated like a king. Thanks much

Despite an initial hiccup regarding my room not being ready upon my late arrival, I waited at Reflections Bar and had my drink, and the bartenders took good care of me, making sure the drink was on the house. By the third night, I was really impressed with the amazing service and bartending skills of two young gentleman, namely Ryle and Prathik. But there was also great overall service in this hotel. I also liked the easy access to the beach as well as small retail outlets in the area. Restaurant-wise, Saffron and Lotus Cafe have some of the freshest and most delicious local dishes you’ll ever enjoy.
